In 2008, Henry and Sylvia Wong made a significant donation to the St. Joseph’s Foundation in San Joaquin County to establish the Henry and Sylvia Wong Nursing Education Endowment.
This endowment will support the annual continuing education symposium named the Henry and Sylvia Wong Symposium for Nurses. The symposium will be organized collaboratively by San Joaquin Delta College, St. Joseph’s Medical Center, and the Central Valley Nursing Leaders Association.
As the Stockton Record later reported,
“I value our nurses so much that I wanted to do something to support all of the nurses in our community,” said Henry Wong, a radiation oncologist at St. Joseph’s Regional Cancer Center for more than 30 years.
